MG Stats Question

I see a lot of MGs rolling with either ENE or STR.

Which is considered superior?

As a playstyle I really enjoy the MG-specific spells over DW, like fire slash and power slash. Do these scale with ENE or STR?

I started out as ENE but then invested to STR to be able to equip rune blade which greatly increased my power. Also based on the following formulas I would assume rolling STR is better?

DAMAGE MG:
MIN: STR / 6 + VIT / 14 + ENE / 12
MAX: STR / 4 + VIT / 7 + ENE / 6

WIZARDRY DAMAGE MG:
MIN: ENE / 9 + MANA / 50
MAX: ENE / 4 + MANA / 40
